About The University

The university maintains an urban campus loaded with modern facilities. Set between Derby Street and Deane Road in Bolton, the campus comprises of two residential halls. Other than this, it has an educational center in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. The university houses around 11,000 students. It offers education under the supervision of 700 educational and qualified staff. The student body of the university represents about 70% of its students coming from Bolton and the North West area. It has about 13% of the student population from ethnic minority communities. With 7 percent global students, the university welcomes students from 70 foreign countries outside the UK. The university also maintains Chaplaincy that contains numerous diverse faiths.
Not just this, the university also offers research opportunities. Students can enroll for Masters and Ph.D. degrees. The university is known for its industry-relevant teachings and vocationally focused degree programs. It offers known courses like Business and Media programs.
Other than this, the university has the Research & Graduate School (R&GS) that operates all the students enrolled for a research degree and any kind of development done by the researchers all over the university. The school also offers help to the research students to improve their practice as a researcher and to make the most of researcher opportunities at the university.

Campus


The University of Bolton was initially founded in 1824 as the Bolton Mechanics institute, before going through a number of changes and eventually being given taught degree awarding powers in 1990, and the title University of Bolton in 2005.
Over 30 University of Bolton courses are professionally accredited, including British Psychological Society and the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Bolton is also a leading UK institution when catering for students with disabilities of all kinds.
Bolton offers some of the lowest fees in the country for students wishing to study at the University, even after all forms of financial support are taken into consideration. Bolton recently opened a small campus in the UAE, continuing its commitment to international expansion. Its student population is one of the most ethnically diverse in the UK with around 25 per cent coming from minority communities.
